Beginner Drawing with Heidi Merrick
Wednesdays, October 16-30 | 5:30-7:30pm
$35/Art Center Member or $45 Non-Member
This class will teach the basic steps of learning how to draw using pencils and charcoal. Start by learning how to use our drawing tools and how to start out a drawing by drawing simple objects and still life. We will then learn how to shade objects and draw textures. On the last day, students will draw from a photo of their choice.
Here are the recommended supplies:
1. A set of drawing pencils, ranging from about 5H to 8B
2. A large eraser (preferably one from an art store rather than that standard pink ones at home)
3. A pad of drawing paper
4. A kneaded eraser
5. Vine charcoal (one pack of soft or medium)
6. Compressed charcoal sticks (soft, medium, and hard)
7. Charcoal pencils (soft, medium, and hard)
8. Drawing stumps or tortillons
