Indian Sand Painting with David Garrison

Saturday, December 12 | 1-2pm

Grades 1-6

$10 per kiddo

Students will first learn of how the Navajo Indians used sand paintings to heal the sick. They will select an Indian symbol and draw it with glue on top of thick paper. Then students will take pinches of brightly colored sand and sprinkle it on top of their design.

Instructor David Garrison learned the true ways of sand painting from the Navajo in New Mexico 45 years ago! His interest in this was from his strong bloodline with the Black Foot tribes of the North West.

At this time, students are required to wear masks during our classes. Soap, water, and hand sanitizer are available for use. Stations will be cleaned thoroughly. This is subject to change depending on CDC and state guidelines. If the school districts are holding virtual classes only, class will be cancelled or postponed for a later date. Thank you for understanding.
